Community Theatre Internship with M.A.D Society

Job Description

  • Location : Patchwork Studios, Maker Heights, Cornwall, PL10 1LA (map link)

  • Pay : £15 an hour (roughly 7 hours a week) up to a total of £2,100 for the overall internship period.

  • Application Deadline : Midnight Sun 10th November.

  • Interviews : Week beginning Mon 11th November (online or in-person).

  • Start Date : Wed 20th November                                                                   

  • Hours & Contract: Must be free Wednesdays 3-7pm and Sundays 1-3pm until end of March 2025. Other working hours are flexible. Offered as a freelance contract. The role has to be completed by the end of March 2025.

About M.A.D Society

Starting out with a bang in 2023, MAD Society gathered the local community together with a cast of 45 people from 3 years old to 65 years old to put on the community panto - Charlie and the Chocolate factory. The whole thing was a complete success that the requests for more came rolling in so the MAD ladies embarked on project number 2, Mad Lab. Mad Lab was a skill based learning programme with a showcase at the end of the 6 weeks which again was a complete joy for the whole community. Now it is time for the Pantomime once more but more help is needed as it's such a huge project. 

Internship at M.A.D Society

This internship is a learning opportunity open to applicants of all ages and social backgrounds with genuine enthusiasm for community theatre production. We are looking for :

  • Someonce to take a lead role with Set & Props so must enjoy making things and art.

  • Somebody who works well with lots of people as the theatre school already has over 50 people involved.

  • Somebody willing to help with the younger age groups as any added adult presence is needed.

  • Must be free Wednesdays 15:00-19:00 until end of March 2025.

  • Must be free Sundays 13:00-15:00 until end of March 2025.

  • Someone who is willing to learn and adapt in a fast pace, energetic environment.
